Musk, 49, was spotted out to dinner with “SNL” producers and cast members on Tuesday night at Il Gattopardo, including Pete Davidson, Colin Jost, Kenan Thompson, Chris Redd, Ego Nwodim, and Chloe Fineman.
“[The] ‘SNL’ cast and writers have been awesome so far!” he told us exclusively and succinctly after meeting his co-stars at dinner.
Musk, who is estimated to be worth $165.8 billion, also directed us to an interview Michael Che gave to the radio show “The Breakfast Club,” in which he supported Tesla’s CEO as host, saying, “It’s a rich man’s world, of course, I want to meet him.”
“I am getting so much done. I am going to give him so many ideas,” the comic said. It’s entertaining. It’s exciting to be working with the world’s richest man.”
Che stated that having Musk host is “cool; it’s polarising in terms of any controversy.” I like it when a show has a bit of edge to it.”
“I believe white people dislike billionaires for some reason,” Che elaborated. “Billionaires are loved in this country. We’d be ecstatic if Oprah or Tyler Perry came, but for whatever reason, I think it’s a little embarrassing when they realise how wealthy they are.”
“SNL” star Pete Davidson has also come out in support of Musk after cast members Bowen Yang and Aidy Bryant appeared to express their displeasure with having him host.
“I’m not sure why people are freaking out,” Davidson explained to Seth Meyers. “I’m ecstatic… They’re all like, ‘Oh, I can’t believe Elon Musk is hosting!’ And I’m like, “the guy who makes the world a better place by making cool things and sending people to Mars?”
After our reporters published that we would never need some cast members to appear in sketches with Musk, Musk told us earlier this week that the people on the show are friendly.
