Amazon has launched miniTV, a new video streaming service. The service provides users with “professionally” created and curated content in the form of web series, comedy shows, tech news, food, beauty, and fashion, among other things. It is free, but users will see advertisements. It is accessible via the Amazon shopping app.
“With the introduction of miniTV, the Amazon. in shopping app has become a single destination for customers to shop from millions of products, make payments, and watch free entertainment videos,” Amazon wrote in a blog post.
The new video streaming service is currently only available for Android users. IOS and mobile web versions will be available in the coming months.
The e-commerce behemoth has collaborated with leading studios like TVF and Pocket Aces and comedians like Ashish Chanchlani, Amit Bhadana, Round2Hell, and Harsh Beniwal, Shruti Arjun Anand, Elvish Yadav, Prajakta Koli, Swagger Sharma, Aakash Gupta, and others.
There will also be content on technology, fashion, and beauty.
The service even has a food section with videos from Kabita’s Kitchen, Cook with Nisha, and Gobble. Amazon promises to add a slew of new and exclusive videos in the coming weeks. It is important to note that Amazon Prime and miniTV are not the same platforms.
“miniTV is completely free, and there is no need for a separate app. Prime Video, which requires a Prime subscription, provides a selection of award-winning Amazon Originals, new movies, and TV shows in English and nine Indian languages. Viewers can access Prime Video via the app or through their smart TVs,” According to the company.
How do I get access to Amazon’s miniTV?
To access miniTV, launch the Amazon app on your Android phone. There is no separate option to access the new service as of yet.
You can access miniTV by opening the Amazon app and scrolling down a little. When you find it, tap on the miniTV to be redirected to a new section with free web series and other content.
